My Visit to Cosentino Kitchen Worktops
Having recently been on a visit to see what goes on in Spain, James and some of the staff were really excited about Silestone. The special treatment that Silestone receives enhances its resistance to the daily use. Liquids, stains or scratches won't be a concern. You can choose from more than 50 colours, with different textures and formats. Silestone is a low porosity surface which guarantees zero liquid absorption. Quartz is one of the hardest minerals making Silestone ultra resilient and able to resist impact better than some materials such as granite, or solid surfaces and offers an outstanding scratch resistance.
We spent a lot of time before the visit with our sample doors, handles and all of the Silestone samples trying to see what looked good together, I really liked the look of the industrial trend and the new rough texture that reflects the imperfections and irregularities of cement. There was an argument however that with Matt cabinets we may want to go with a shinier light reflecting surface, especially since our house can be on the dark side. After MUCH backwards and forwards we did eventually choose Lusso, a light coloured smooth and shiny worktop. Armed with this decision we made our way to Consentino.
We were meeting Mark Dallas, he was very welcoming and extremely passionate about the company and their products. He is always willing to show customers around the factory and does in fact encourage people to visit. Walking through to the warehouse was amazing, slab after slab of product that must be like baking a tray of cookies, I liked the fact the company is aware of the environment and uses recycled materials where it can. With 30,000 litres of water used per day I was happy to learn that 98% of it was recycled. I was able to see a large slab of the Lusso I had chosen and it looked even better in real life! Cosentino supply the stone to Stone Circle who fabricate and install the stone and I will detail our visit to see that happening too.
